Stoughton Housing Authority: Civil |
|
Ambient Engineering was responsible for the expansion of an existing parking lot and reconstruction of walkways and fence enclosures for an elderly housing facility owned by the Stoughton Housing Authority. The project included design, permitting, coordination of subconsultants, and construction phase services.
Civil design was performed in order to increase the number of parking spaces for tenants and visitors within tight site constraints. Portions of the existing parking lot were regraded to improve drainage on the site. Ambient reviewed original design drawings and determined that a catch basin with drywell could be installed in the parking lot, thereby improving drainage without changing existing curbing.
Ambient managed the bidding for the project in accordance with Department of Housing and Community Development guidelines and Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30 Section 39M. During construction Ambient provided technical project specifications, answered requests for information, provided shop drawings, attended project meetings, and made both scheduled site inspections and special inspections for critical construction events. The Housing Authority then retained Ambient to conduct a feasibility study to determine future expansion possibilities. |
